Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 20, 2026

SW Florida Water (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides free in-home water testing and water treatment systems to homes in Sarasota, Charlotte and Lee counties, Florida. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

When you ask for a water test or send us a message, we collect what you enter in the form:

  • Your name, phone number, and email address
  • Your home address (you can type it, or pick it from address suggestions)
  • Whether your water comes from the city, a well, or you are not sure
  • The page you were on when you sent the form, including any tracking details in its web address, such as which ad or campaign brought you here

If you call us, we may take notes about your call and your water. We may also process your IP address for a short time to keep the site secure and to stop spam and repeated submissions.

We also collect some information automatically when you visit the site, using Google Tag Manager and the tools we manage through it (see Cookies and analytics below). This can include the pages you view, the page or ad that sent you here, your device, browser and approximate location (based on your IP address), and how you use the site, such as whether you click to call or send the form. This information is used in aggregate and is not tied to your name unless you send us a form.

How we use your information

  • To contact you about your request, schedule your free water test, and give you a quote
  • To send a confirmation of your request
  • To follow up about your test results, service, or an estimate you asked for
  • To keep records of the work we do in your home
  • To protect the website from spam and misuse, and to improve it
  • To understand how people find and use the site, and to measure whether our advertising is working

We do not sell your personal information.

Text messages and calls

By giving us your phone number and submitting the form, you agree that we may call or text you about your request. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies. Reply STOP to any text to stop receiving texts, or HELP for help. Agreeing to receive texts is not a condition of buying anything from us. We do not share mobile phone numbers or text-message consent with third parties for their marketing.

Who we share it with

We share your information only as needed to run our business:

  • Our own staff and technicians who handle your request
  • Service providers that help us run the website and manage inquiries, such as web hosting, email delivery, and customer-management tools
  • Google, if address suggestions are turned on or a page shows a map. Letters you type in the address field are sent to Google Maps Platform to return matching addresses. When a page shows a Google map, your browser connects to Google to load it, and Google may receive your IP address and browser details. Google handles this under its own privacy policy
  • Google, through Google Tag Manager and the analytics or advertising tags we run with it. When you visit the site, your browser connects to Google, which may receive your IP address, device and browser details, and the pages you view. Google handles this under its own privacy policy
  • Authorities or other parties when the law requires it, or to protect our rights and safety

How long we keep it

We keep your inquiry and service records for as long as we need them to serve you and to meet our legal and business record-keeping needs. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see below). Analytics and advertising data is kept for the period set in our analytics account.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses the cookies needed to make it work. We also use Google Tag Manager, which loads the measurement tags we choose, such as Google Analytics or Google Ads. These tags may set cookies or use similar technologies to count visits, see how visitors move through the site, and measure the results of our advertising. Pages that show a Google map load it from Google, which may use cookies or similar technologies of its own under Google’s privacy policy.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can use Google’s opt-out tools, such as the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, to stop your visits from being measured. Blocking cookies may affect how some parts of the site work. We do not use these tools for visitors who are logged in to the site as our own staff.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect your information. No website or email can be completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

You can ask us to tell you what information we have about you, correct it, or delete it. You can also tell us to stop contacting you. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Children

This website is for adults who own or manage a home. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Links to other sites

Our pages may link to other websites, including our manufacturer’s and public water-quality report pages. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed.
