Water Filtration in Sarasota & Charlotte County

Water Testing

Your Water Is Safe. It Just Tastes Like A Pool.

Nobody’s getting sick from Southwest Florida tap water. The utilities do their job, and the chlorine is a big part of why.

You still taste it in your coffee though, and smell it in the shower where it comes off in the steam.

Charlotte County Utilities disinfects Peace River water with chlorine and chloramines. City of Sarasota adds free chlorine before it leaves the plant. Different utilities, same result at your tap.

The grit in your faucet aerators is a separate thing. That comes off older distribution lines and out of your own plumbing, and it shows up worst for a day after the county works on a line nearby.

A whole-home filter handles both, right where the water comes into the house.

01

We Test

Free in-home test. We find what is actually causing the taste, the smell and the grit.

02

We Match It

Chlorine, sediment or both. The media gets picked for what your water is carrying.

03

We Install

Mounted on the main line before the plumbing splits, so it treats the whole house.

It Will Not Soften Your Water

Hardness minerals are dissolved. They pass straight through a filter like it isn’t there.

So if you’ve got crust on the fixtures and spots on your glasses, a filter won’t fix that. Hardness needs a softener. Chlorine and sediment need a filter.

Most homes down here have both problems, which is why most end up with both units. Not all of them though, and we’ll tell you if yours only needs one.

That’s the part worth getting right before you spend anything.

Frequently Asked Questions About Water Filtration

Depends what it is pulling out and how much water the house runs. Carbon for chlorine has a different life than sediment media. We set the interval off your test and your household size, and we tell you what the replacement costs before you buy anything.

On city water there usually is not one to fix. That rotten egg smell is a well problem, and it needs dedicated sulfur removal rather than a standard filter. If you are on a well and smelling it, that is a different system and a different page.

A correctly sized one should not be noticeable. An undersized one will be, and that is the usual reason people say filters hurt pressure. We size against your fixture count rather than fitting whatever is on the shelf.
