Ask What Your Utility Already Does Before You Buy

Venice runs reverse osmosis at its own plant. Boca Grande does too, on most of the island supply.

If you’re on either one, say so before you buy anything. You may already have most of what an RO unit would give you.

Everywhere else it’s the most thorough thing you can put on your water. RO forces water through a membrane tight enough to block most of what’s dissolved in it. That’s a real step past a softener or a whole-home filter, because both of those leave dissolved solids behind.

It goes under one sink rather than on the whole house. You drink and cook with a small slice of what runs through your plumbing, and that’s the slice worth treating hard.

01

We Test

Free test of your drinking water, so you know what an RO unit would actually be removing.

02

We Size The Stages

How many stages you need comes off the test, not off a package.

03

We Fit It

Under-sink install, and we show you how to change the filters before we leave.

What It Looks Like Under Your Sink

Small unit in the cabinet with its own little faucet on the counter. Nothing changes about your regular tap.

You use the RO faucet for drinking, cooking, ice and the coffee maker. Everything else runs off the main tap as normal.

RO pulls minerals out along with everything else, so some people find the water tastes flat. If that’s you, we add a remineralization stage on the end and it comes back.

Most people notice the difference first in coffee and in ice.

Frequently Asked Questions About Reverse Osmosis

Some, yes. RO sends a portion to the drain to flush off what the membrane catches. Newer units are a lot better at it than older ones. If that matters to you, ask about the ratio on whatever we are quoting before you decide.

They're solving different problems. The whole home filter cleans up every tap in the house. RO goes a lot further, but only at the one faucet. If what bothers you is the water you drink and cook with, RO is the one that actually fixes it.

Depends on your water and how much of it you use. The sediment and carbon stages come out more often than the membrane, which usually runs for years. We set the interval off your test rather than off the number printed on the box.
